It’s officially a new year and it’s time for some more places and spaces that inspire! What I love about design is that there’s no right way to do things and the possibilities are endless. I tend to gravitate towards a specific style, but I am constantly awed and inspired by designs that I would never consider for my own home. And that’s the beauty of it!
You can find inspiration anywhere. And I hope that as this new year kicks off, we can all continue to be inspired and use that inspiration to design more places and spaces that inspire.
Now let’s look at some cool stuff!
Let’s start with this stunner from the one and only, Amber Interiors Design Studio. I think I love everything about this kitchen. From the cabinet color to the countertops, the open shelving to the windows by the kitchen sink, I could easily dream of cooking and baking in this kitchen.
Now, the large wooden feature on the range hood leans more rustic, and isn’t a style I typically gravitate toward, but it really sets the tone in this space. It anchors that area of the room and adds a really organic, grounding energy that takes the design to the next level. To check out more of Amber Interiors’ Going to Carolina Project, click here!
Does marble ever remind you of cookies & cream ice cream? Or is it just me? The veining in a classic light-colored marble with dark veining always makes me think of a perfectly cookie’d cookies and cream ice cream, with ribbons of cookie dust streaking through it. Cookies and cream is one of my favorites if you can’t tell.
Regardless, this bathroom is fabulous and the veining in the marble is incredible. Add the gold details and sconces and you’ve got a winning combination. AG Designs really knocked it out of the park with this one, and you can see more of their Creemore project here.
The ceiling in this kitchen makes such a statement. It draws your eye up, adds a sense of drama to the space, and really sets the stage for the beautiful set up down below. Melissa Colgan Interiors did an incredible job with this kitchen as part of their Donmore Drive project. Check out more of the home here!
Breakfast nooks are so much fun. It’s just a little area for a table and chairs, but it can become such a useful and cute space. Whenever I see a breakfast nook, I picture people eating breakfast before school or taking off for work. The dinner conversations that take place after a long day. They just have a certain charm and intimacy about them.
They’re these little areas that sit off on their own, designed for closeness and connection. They ellicit a sense of comfort and maybe that’s what comes through for me when I see this picture. To see the rest of this beautiful Fraher and Findlay project, click here!
Who can resist a classic NYC townhouse? Especially one that’s covered in a beautiful white limestone. And if anyone has $24.8 million laying around, you can go ahead and snatch this up and make all your NYC dreams come true.
Black and gold is such a great combination and this kitchen knocks it out of the park. Typically, we just see gold fixtures or gold pendant lamps, but to have a gold island too really ups the drama.
And that wraps up this month’s places and spaces that inspire post! I hope this brought you some inspiration for the new year. I’ll see you back here next month for some more places and spaces that inspire!
