We’ve had an unseasonably cool and cloudy spring here in SoCal, so I am very excited for summer, which is very quickly approaching! In honor of summer, and so I can focus on something other than the gloomy weather we’ve had here in LA, I’ve put together some light and bright spaces for this month’s places and spaces that inspire post. Hope you enjoy these spaces as we start the countdown to summer!
This kitchen seemed like the perfect way to start our exploration of light and bright spaces. Designed by Jenny Martin Design, it’s the perfect balance of light and airy while also being grounded and inviting. Sometimes light and airy spaces can come across as cold or uninviting, but this one is warm and so well balanced.
I also LOVE the amount of storage in this kitchen, which takes a beautiful design and makes it functional, which is the ultimate goal of good design (in my opinion at least). Love this kitchen!
Marble is so incredible and can really take a space to the next level, and it is evident in this bathroom. Designed by Katie LeClercq Design Studio, this bathroom exudes elegance and mixes a bit of traditional and modern design. And that marble bathtub really takes it over the top. I also love the flooring and how it blends so nicely with the space.
This space is a little different from the first two and has more wood tones and darker colors, but it still strikes a bit of that summer vibe for me. It’s a beautiful space and I can see opening those doors up for a summer BBQ or party, and having this really beautiful indoor/outdoor space for entertaining or just hanging out on a warm summer day.
The light pouring into this kitchen designed by Thomson & Cooke Architects instantly made me think of those long summer days. It’s also a beautiful kitchen, so there’s that too!
I love a good hallway, don’t you? Champalimaud Design redesigned this 1920’s Mission Revival estate and updated this beautiful, long hallway. It reminds me of a tropical resort somewhere and would be perfect for a summer vacation.
This house and backyard seemed like a great choice to end this month’s post. It’s a beautiful house and backyard, and definitely brings up a memory or two of warm summer evenings in the backyard with family and friends. I know I wouldn’t mind throwing a summer party or two if this was my backyard!
And that wraps up this month’s places and spaces that inspire post! I hope this brought you some inspiration or helped bring in some end of spring/beginning of summer vibes. I’ll see you back here next month for some more places and spaces that inspire!
