2023 is officially under way and it’s time for some more places and spaces that inspire. I don’t really like to focus on trends personally, but the photos below do highlight some changes I think we might see over the next couple years. Warmer spaces, richer wood tones, and color are coming back to play in design and I’m excited to see where it leads. Hope you enjoy these spaces and Happy New Year!
Speaking of warmer, wood-toned spaces, this family room has all the warmth and coziness I’ve been looking for. It’s beautifully designed and is still fairly streamlined and minimal. I also love the marble hearth and wood accent wall, it’s the perfect focal point for the space.
I also love when a house actually has a TV in it. Some spaces are so beautifully designed, but they seem to lack a space for a TV. And as a frequent movie and TV watcher, I always notice that missing detail. So, major shoutout to Lindye Galloway for incorporating it in such a beautiful way.
Speaking of Lindye Galloway, here’s another space she designed. Isn’t this beautiful?
The feature wall and marble fireplace, the arched wooden cabinets, the french doors to the right, and all the design details. So much good stuff. And if you can believe it, it’s in the same project as the family room up above. Crazy, right? Lindye has some amazing projects, and this is definitely one of my favorites. Continuing my obsession with warm spaces, this family room looks so cozy and inviting. The dark green walls, the auburn colored velvet couch, and the dark rug really anchor the space without making it feel overwhelming. They also painted the ceiling, which I would normally be unsure of, but it works really well in this space.
I’m not usually a fan of metal range hoods, but I actually really love the one in this kitchen. It accents the gold details and finishes so well and really takes the space to the next level.
Designer Monica Fried did a wonderful job on this kitchen, and it’s actually in the same project as the dark green family room up above. To see the rest of the house, click here!
As far as dining rooms go, this one is pretty cool. I love the mix of modern and traditional elements and the addition of some bold color with the flooring, dining bench, and curtains. It’s a great dining room and looks like a really nice space to get together with family and friends and share some great food.
Just another beautiful kitchen I found on Instagram, courtesy of @JadeLundgren.
When it comes to design, I sometimes struggle with mixing different colors and styles. If I find a couple random pieces that I love, I always worry that they won’t go together. But if everything matches too much, the space can end up looking kind of boring and repetitive.
However, this living room serves as a reminder that unique pieces and styles can come together and create an amazing space. It’s such a great blend of different styles and unique pieces that I would probably be nervous to put together, but it works so well.
Another beautiful kitchen with darker wood tones, light green cabinets, and really great lighting. I’m starting to see a pattern here. It’s a really beautiful combination that I think we’re going to see again and again.
Now this is a little different from the pictures above, but it caught my eye and I just had to feature it. The greenery and light in the trees reminds me of spring and it seemed like a nice uplifting break for the winter blues. Hope you enjoy!
And that wraps up this month’s places and spaces that inspire post! I hope this brought you some inspiration or at least stirred up some new ideas for 2023. I’ll see you back here next month for some more places and spaces that inspire!
