Life Lately – 09.04.24

September 4, 2024

jafudsnfsughdsugaskzjghdszg <——– that’s essentially how this summer has been and how I’m going to sum it up lol. It’s been a rollercoaster, like life can be sometimes, and it’s been quite the season.

It’s been a while since my last Life Lately post (which was also my first Life Lately post) so I figured I’d do another one just to share what’s been going on. I’m still getting the hang of this whole sharing things online thing, so bear with me! I’ll try to keep it short and to the point, but wow, has it been quite the couple of months over here.

A Summer To Remember

My mom’s health took a turn at the beginning of summer (it started in late spring but by summer things really changed). So this summer started out with a 2-day trip to visit my mom in the hospital which turned into a 2 week trip for us and a month long stay for my mom. That was followed by a lot of other things going on, another trip to visit my mom at another hospital, and all the moving parts of helping her get into nursing facilities and talk to doctors and all the things that entails. And on the flip side, this was also our first summer as parents so that included our first trip to the beach, first 4th of July, and so many other new things.

This often left me thinking about how there are moments where life can be bittersweet. And sometimes it can be bitter and sweet in the same 24 hours.

Like taking a break from visiting my mom in the hospital to take our daughter to the beach for the first time. Bitter and sweet in the same day.

And sometimes I guess we just have to slow down and realize all that’s going on, and take the wins when we can, and continue to push through for those really sweet moments.

And for an update on my mom, she is currently back up in Northern California (near my brother and I and our family) receiving treatment, and physical and occupational therapy to regain her strength, which we are very grateful for. So again, another sweet moment after some not-so-sweet months.

It’s Almost Fall Already?

But needless to say, this summer has been a whirlwind and it’s left me a little discombobulated as to what time of year it is. I’m usually chomping at the bit for all things autumn and fall, but it doesn’t even feel the same this time around. But, since it looks like we’ll be in Northern California for fall this year (you can read more about that here), you can bet I’ll feel all the fall feels when the leaves start changing and the weather finally cools down.

This past weekend we took a little road trip to an area that’s known for apple orchards, small family farms, and wineries. It’s a very popular fall hang out up here, and was a nice reminder that fall is fast approaching. We went a little early in the season so it was 1000 degrees, but getting out in nature and seeing all the greenery definitely made it worthwhile.

I hope your summer is wrapping up really nicely and that your fall is filled with all the fall feels! 🍂 I’ve got a lot of new content planned for the blog so I’m excited to create and share some new stuff in the coming weeks. I just have to stay disciplined and stick to my content schedule, so I should probably go work on that now!

Anyways, thanks for tuning in to my little update, introduce yourself below if you want, and I hope you have an amazing fall season!
