Spring is finally here in Southern California and I am so excited! We’ve had so much rain this year, which is great, but it’s a little weird when you’re used to warm weather and sun all the time. We’ve finally had a couple days of 70 and 80+ degree weather and it’s actually starting to feel like spring.
Fall is my favorite season, but spring has definitely grown on me over the years. There’s just something about all the fresh flowers and that cool spring air that just makes it special.
I put together a couple of my favorite things (that I actually purchased or tried this month) in case you’re looking for something new or something to cook in the coming weeks. Hope you had a great April!
Favorite Purchases
Easy Standard Rib Fitted Racer Tank Midi Dress
I love the tank tops from Easy Standard and I finally ordered one of their dresses earlier this month. And now that I have it, I honestly don’t want to admit how many times I’ve worn it (I’m actually wearing it as I’m typing this post haha). It’s super comfy and so easy to throw on, I’m hoping to get one or two more pretty soon! (Easy Standard has a great Black Friday sale if you have to wait to try them out!)
SeaVees Monterey Platform in Monarch
I saw an ad for SeaVees on Instagram and found these Monterey Platforms and decided to give them a try. I got the Monarch butterfly pattern and really like them. They were also 50% off at the time so that’s always a win. They’re comfy and easy to throw on and add an extra pop to a basic outfit!
Favorite Recipes
Grilled Chicken Summer Rice Bowls
These summer rice bowls are a great option for a quick dinner or weekly meal prep! We paired them with these quick pickled red onions and added them to our list of favorites.
Iced Lemon Pound Cake
This iced lemon pound cake from Sally’s Baking Addiction barely lasted a day in our house. It’s pretty easy to make, especially if you have a stand mixer, and is full of lemon flavor without being overpowering. If you’re a lemon fan, I highly recommend it!
Homemade Grain Free Granola
I decided to give homemade granola a try and this recipe is definitely a keeper! I’ve been trying to make things at home more lately, and this granola definitely beats the usual store-bought granola (in my opinion at least). I didn’t have chia seeds and swapped the pecans for organic puffed rice cereal and it still turned out great. If you like granola and have all the ingredients, it’s definitely worth a try!
Alright, that wraps up this month’s post! Hope everyone had a great April and cheers to the month ahead!
