Dark and Moody Living Room Moodboard

October 27, 2024

When I was creating the Dark and Moody Dining Room Moodboard I posted a couple weeks ago, I also spun it into a living room design and hence, this post was born. It uses some of the same items as the dining room, but adds a couple living room specific pieces. It created a darker toned living room with lots of rich browns and a little bit of drama. Let’s take a look at the moodboard!

The Moodboard

A lot of design lately has focused on light and bright spaces, all white walls and light neutrals, which I love. But man, does adding some color and some drama really change things! I might be biased but I think this living room would be quite the show stopper, and would really bring some moodiness and drama without being over the top.

The Products

1 – Wall Art // Arhaus Winter Harvest Framed Print II // A beautiful framed print to set the mood for the space.

2 – Sideboard // Arhaus Conrad Sideboard in Dhurrie Brown // An instant heirloom. I love the lines, silhouette, and rich color.

3 – Chandelier // Arhaus Paloma Chandelier in Black // Bring some drama to your living room with this chandelier.

4 – Accent Chair // Arhaus Aimee Chair in Vanni Taupe // It’s formal, but also looks comfortable enough to sit back and enjoy a good book.

5 – Sectional // Arhaus Kipton Two-Piece Sectional in Beacon Natural // Beautiful sectional for a comfy seating option.

6 – Candelabra // Arhaus Javari 10-Light Candleholder // A very cool candleholder that may also serve as a heat source with all those candles. I’m kidding of course. But 10 candles is a lot.

7 – Pillow // Arhaus Sonali Pillow Cover // Pretty pillow cover that can be used year-round.

8 – Area Rug // Arhaus Holland Hand Knotted Rug in Brown // Chocolate-colored rug to ground the space. Also great for a high traffic area since it’s a low pile and a darker color.

9 – Pillow // Arhaus Autumn Pillow in Autumn Cocoa // A chocolate-colored throw pillow to tie into the rug and warm tones in the room.

10 – Decorative Bowl // Arhaus Rhodes Marble Bowl // A decorative marble bowl to add some detail and drama.

11 – Vase // Arhaus Milou Vase // Perfect for a small candle or fresh flowers, this vase adds the perfect finishing touch to the space.

That wraps up this dark and moody living room moodboard! I hope you found something you like or at least some inspiration for your own space. Happy decorating!
