August is officially here, and it’s been quite the whirlwind over here! How is your summer going? I’m starting to see fall posts on social media, and I don’t hate it, but also can’t believe it at the same time. This month’s post has quite the mix of spaces and styles, so let’s look at this month’s collection of places and spaces that inspire!
I saw this kitchen a couple weeks ago and bookmarked it just for this post. It’s a little more traditional than my usual style, but it’s so stunning! It gives off a polished, inviting, comfortable, lived-in feel. It also reminds me of something that would be in a Nancy Meyers movie, which are known for their polished yet lived-in set design. I love the shape of the marble fireplace and the fact that they created a bit of a mantel with the stone. The armchair looks incredibly comfortable, and this moody and modern space creates a great little reading nook in what I imagine is a very cool living space.
We’ve got another stunning kitchen in this month’s post. This kitchen was part of the Brownstone Boys “Dream in Fort Greene” project, and it is a stunner. It’s different from the first kitchen in this post, but both of them achieve a comfortable, lived-in look with classic, traditional elements. This one also incorporates some more modern lines and shapes to bring in a modern aesthetic. The rest of the project is just as beautiful!
Traditional design elements must have been on my mind lately, because here is another space that mixes traditional elements and modern flair. This bathroom was part of a remodel and the way they worked the shower into the corner of the room is very cool. The marble bench is also quite stunning! Check out more of Carley Summers’ work here!
I actually featured this house last summer in a places and spaces post, but somehow missed this picture. This space is incredibly charming, and would be a perfect place to work or read while enjoying the fresh summer breeze and beautiful water view. This also seems to be the most “summer-y” photo in this post, so I figured it could go last, before we switch gears to fall in the coming weeks.
And that wraps up this month’s places and spaces that inspire post! I hope this brought you some design inspiration and that you’re enjoying this final stretch of summer. I’ll see you back here next month for some more places and spaces that inspire!
