October is officially here so it’s time for orange leaves, comfy sweaters, halloween candy, scary movies, and everything dark and moody! In this month’s post, I wanted to combine some of those fall feels with the spookiness of the Halloween season. Hope you enjoy!
I don’t know where this little cottage is, but it’s adorable. Does it give off a creepy, scary movie vibe? A little bit. But it’s still cute though.
I love the simplicity of this Halloween mantel. It’s subtle while still being spooky and chic. They also did the fake cobwebs perfectly, which is a feat in and of itself. This is actually the inspiration for my Halloween mantel this year, so I’m hoping to pull off something similar, but we’ll see!
How cool is this house? I love the contrast of the white brick and black trim. And when you add fall leaves and an almost orange sidewalk, it instantly becomes a Halloween classic.
I think this takes the cake for dark and moody living rooms. From the dark green on the walls, to the velvet couch, and the perfect accent pieces, it gives off dark and moody while also being inviting.
I’ve followed Fireclay Tile for a while now, and when they shared this kitchen, I knew I had to feature it. This kitchen is dark and moody, but it’s not heavy. I think the white tile backsplash really helps to draw the line and make the space still feel light and bright without being overbearing. It’s a great example of using dark colors and rich finishes and balancing them with some white space to add some levity to the room.
I figured we’d finish on a Halloween post to round out this collection. This living space is perfectly appointed for fall and Halloween, and I really love the mix of colors and textures. The black wall and white shelf, the jute rug, the collection of pillows. It adds so many layers to the space and keeps it visually interesting without being overwhelming.
And honestly, without the skeleton, it wouldn’t even be very Halloween-y. But the Skeleton adds the perfect touch of spooky. And it’s always great when your decor can work for multiple seasons or holidays without having to change up a lot of details, which this space does perfectly.
And that wraps up this month’s places and spaces that inspire post! I hope this brought you some inspiration or at least stirred up some October-like vibes for you. I’ll see you back here next month for some more places and spaces that inspire!
